Quest Baits.

Quest Baits.

Shaun Harrison released his range of bait to the carp fishing world after 30 years of experience and carp catching success. His knowledge of bait is staggering and Shaun's passion for angling and his comprehensive and proven range is what drew me to Quest. I have carefully chosen two fantastic boilies from Shaun's range; both will work well at Sierra Brava.

Tiger Nut Crunch.

Picture
Shaun says: The carp's love of Tiger Nuts is legendary, but with so many venues banning them your opportunity to use this devastating bait can be limited. If your water bans the real thing then why not offer the fish a boilie with more than a little similarity?

These boilies use a bird food base mix containing actual nut bits, seeds, insects and a very special tiger nut flavour. They are actually much more nutritious for the carp than actual tiger nuts, but they still contain that all important ‘crunch’ factor. Break a Tiger Nut Crunch boilie open and you'll see - it's absolutely stuffed full of nut bits, insects and seeds. They have a dull yellow tinge to them and a subtle tiger nut aroma.

I feel that the ‘crunch’ aspect is vital and I’m positive that it goes a long way towards answering why these baits are so appealing to carp, as I believe it’s one of the major factors that makes Tiger Nuts so attractive. This in-built ‘crunch’ and our special blend of added taste enhancers and appetite stimulators ensures that once the carp start munching on them it would very much appear they can’t stop… a bit like us eating peanuts. They will be eaten at all times of the year and are easily digested.

Lots of lovely crunchy bits of food, wrapped up in an easy to use boilie form. We knew we were onto a winner with the Tiger when it was launched... it’s appeal has been proved over & over again with countless fish falling to this very special bait.

Rahja Spice

Picture
Shaun says: Smell it and drool… most anglers do. This bait has established a massive following, almost up there with the Special Crab, with a staggering amount of carp falling to it (and barbel too). Rahja Spice is the result of sheer self-indulgence. I made this bait for me… for my own use.

It’s a nutritionally balanced bird food based bait containing Robin Red and a very select range of human grade spices. This blend is the culmination of an awful lot of experimentation and uses both natural and synthetic flavours - I truly believe it to be one of the best blends I’ve ever put together – it catches both winter and summer.

I've always tried to be different with my fishing, never going down the team baiting route, much preferring to do my own thing. A lot of anglers these days appear to have become a little bit blinkered into thinking you need fishmeals to catch large carp. I've always been more than happy for them to continue to believe this - I never bother to point out that some of the top carp catching baits of all time don't have a hint of fish in them. I mean… fishy tigers, fishy sweet corn, fishy hemp seed… I won't go on! So you'll find no fishmeal in this boilie, just a highly nutritious and digestible blend of ingredients, including the very effective carp catching birdfood 'Robin Red'.

As for the flavour. Well, the carp's love of spicy food is undeniable. I've used 'Hot Hemp' for years now and the natural progression of that theme was to start experimenting with spices other than Chilli to 'juice' my hemp up. Rahja is the result of much experimentation over the past six years and includes my most successful combination of spices and peppers, with added garlic, taste enhancers and essential oils - all rolled into little food parcels. At last the carp can share my love of Indian takeaways!

If it's the runs you want - try Rahja Spice!

I will also stock a range of Shaun's pop-ups, hardened hookers, dips, glugs, a paste, and matching pellet.

Five kilos of Quest boilies will be priced at 60 Euros
